Design / Manufacture / Installation

This project entailed replacing and modifying all displays and lighting brackets present within the space. The main priority was to resolve and reassure the library committee, five side panels could be secured and safe for visiting guests.

The initial request, was for a set of sturdy brackets attached to an existing metal railing. I proposed removing this concept and making the display boards completely free standing. This was achieved with the addition of a fixed base, ballasted with a dense block. All on glides, to aid movement on the carpeted surface.

Structure - Redwood PAR frame, cladded with made to measure MDF plinths (front and back).

Each panel required its own bespoke lighting bracket & circuit / Mild steel components, powder coated RAL 7045 - fabricated by studio Jon Male / 18mm rebated MDF strips to accommodate LED strip and cable. Painted Dulux polished pebble.

There were additionally eight made to measure cabinets, each fitted with a with door and set of castor wheels.
